This beloved seafood restaurant and bar offers an authentic island dining experience, inviting guests to savor the freshest catches and bold, tropical flavors in a laid-back, welcoming atmosphere.

Hogfish Bar & Grill specializes in local seafood, with hogfish-the island’s prized delicacy-taking center stage on the menu. Whether it’s the Blackened Hogfish Tacos bursting with smoky spice and freshness, the crispy Fried Hogfish Sandwich that melts in your mouth, or the perfectly balanced Hogfish Sliders topped with Pico De Gallo and tangy Key Lime Tartar, every bite feels like a celebration of the sea. But the culinary adventure doesn’t stop there. The Homemade Key West Mixed Seafood Ceviche, featuring hogfish, shrimp, calamari, and scallops, offers a refreshing and vibrant medley, while the Killer Conch Fritters deliver a crunchy, savory punch that will have you reaching for more.

The menu also caters to those seeking hearty warmth with soul-soothing options like the Bahamian Conch Chowder, the luxuriously creamy Lobster Bisque, and the robust “Loaded to the Max” Chili. For lighter fare, the Island Summer Salad-a lively mix of arugula, mandarins, dried cranberries, pecans, goat cheese, cherry tomatoes, and cucumber topped with blackened shrimp-perfectly balances freshness and flavor. Sundays bring a special treat with the Stock Island Shrimp Boil, a generous plate of fresh Key West pink shrimp paired with andouille smoked sausage, corn on the cob, red potatoes, and homemade cornbread, making it a must-try celebration of local fare.

Not only does Hogfish Bar & Grill boast an impressive array of dishes, but it also pulses with an energetic, yet intimate vibe. Several visitors praise its authentic “local joint” feel, complete with great views and live entertainment that amplify the experience. Friendly, attentive servers add a personal touch, making you feel instantly at home. From the moment you step in, the atmosphere feels genuine and spirited-ideal for everything from a casual family dinner to a lively night out with friends.

Jesse Weaver recommends the shrimp tacos “for sure,” and many, like Therésa Ryan, wish they'd discovered Hogfish Bar & Grill earlier in their trips, highlighting the unforgettable taste of hogfish that left a lasting impression. Eddie Bolton notes the “fantastic atmosphere” and “delicious food,” with special mention for perfectly fried wings and unexpectedly delightful soups like broccoli cheese. We have been in the Keys for 5 weeks and have eaten from Islamorada to Key West. The dinner we had here on our last night was at the top! The only problem here is the parking. We got here early and didn’t have to wait for a table for our group of 8, but did struggle to park. We were seated right away and greeted by a very bubbly, friendly young waitress. She was real good about splitting checks even though we were all split up from our spouses. Drinks & food came out quick. I had the blackened yellow tail tacos that were on special and they were absolutely delicious. Beat fish tacos I’ve had! Came with a big bowl of rice @ beans and chips and salsa. Others had the Hog Fish Sandwich, fish Reuben & hog fish & chips! Everyone loved their food!

Always eat where the locals eat.. that is my motto. So I tried this establishment as it came recommended. A solid 3 -4 star for the food , 5 for vibe and service. The vibe of the place .. very cool . Total hometown feel and you can feel it’s a local joint . Great views and live entertainment. Service was great . Our waitress was attentive and friendly. The food . Lobster bisque . It was good . It’s on the thick side . Lobster Mac and cheese, my son said it was great. I had the Hogfish tacos. I wish I read ( don’t know if it was even stated on the menu) that there was jalapeños in there as I felt it just ruined the whole dish . Took away from the fish and made it inedible for me . I tried picking it out but I just tried eating the fish and left everything else as the juice from the peppers just tainted it . Key lime pie -great 1 soda, 1 alcohol. $100 $30 tip Price point - I feel it was reasonably priced.

Fantastic atmosphere, delicious food, and friendly staff. We went to Hogfish B&G several times. The food was outstanding. The night’s special (pictured) was outstanding and full of flavor. The wings were well sauced and perfectly fried for an excellent crunchy exterior while preserving a juicy interior. The broccoli cheese soup was an unexpected home run. On top of that, the bloody Maria was easily a 12/10. The staff was happy to help and quick with their service. The atmosphere was the perfect relaxed tiki bar vibe, but the food was high level, flavorful, and quick. We went back several times and will be back in the future without a doubt.

Bottom line. We thought it was great. Order the shrimp tacos for sure, and probably everything else is awesome too! Note that in some of the pictures, I forgot to shoot the photo before eating. We came at about 5 on a Monday night and had a 10 min wait. So you might have to wait a bit. But, it’s worth it. We really enjoyed our food here and the waitress was a lovely lady that seemed to know her stuff and was serving with a smile. We started with Conch fritters. Never had any before or since, but these seemed excellent. And the two sauces that came with were awesome. Sort of a sweet cocktail sauce and a creamy sauce with light horseradish flavor. I got the mixed grill. The highlights there were the perfectly cooked fish, shrimp, and scallops. The calamari was a bit tough but tasted good. The rice and vegetables were fine, not exceptional. My wife got the Hogfish sandwich with grilled fish. We both liked it but thought it would really shine with the fish fried. It was a large sandwich though, bigger than most burgers at a typical chain. The star was the shrimp tacos. We ordered for my 4-year old daughter and I was watching in pain as she was being difficult about eating them. They were the best looking and probably best tasting shrimp tacos I’ve ever eaten. If you come, someone in your party needs to get these. It’s just two tacos but they are huge and loaded with shrimp and a fantastic slaw and sauce. And it might be a weird thing to say, but the rice and beans on the side were killer good too.

We found this restaurant on our last day of vacation. We wish we had found it much earlier because their food was amazing. We had never had hogfish before and it was really very good. Everything came out hot and the server was really nice. We certainly would have been back More times if we had found it earlier in our trip.

One of the best seafood restaurants in the key west. Their ambience is amazing by the coast and their service is quick and friendly. They had a live guitar performance and a separate bar area. We crab cake, virgin mojito, fish taco and fish fingers. Their fish fingers is the best I’ve tasted. They were fresh, tender and juicy. Cooked perfectly and had good flavor. Every bite was moorish. Their crab cake was also soft and had a creamy texture inside. The tacos were also great and the meat was fresh and the quantity was good for two people. Overall we had a great time here and I would highly recommend this place to anyone who love seafood.

Great local bar and restaurant with fresh seafood! My friends and I had a great time here. Was greeted at the door by Moriah the comfort dog (she was getting seated with her owners standing next to us) and it was a great start to our experience! They had live music and the lady singing was really good. We commented how the sound level was perfect cause it wasn’t too loud for us to have a conversation and still sounded great. Plenty of fresh seafood options on the menu from bang bang shrimp, to scallops, and lobster Mac & cheese. All in all, everything was good and we will be back to try more. Thanks!

Wow. The food is fantastic! The hog fish is incredible. Several dishes available with hogfish. We had the hog fish tacos and the hog fish sandwich. We also had the grouper special. Large group and all our meals were amazing. The drinks were delicious and generous as well. We'll be back before we leave the area.
